Gift-giving Guide 2022 by Megan Murphy

It’s that time of year! You just finished writing out your Christmas cards, you’re hanging your stockings by the chimney with care and sipping on some winter punch, but then, it hits you. You never bought a gift for your teammate or business partner. How could you have forgotten!? And what should you get them that doesn’t feel last minute?

Ideas for your team:

  • Self-care products like lotions, candles, and nice soaps. A bottle of lotion for them to keep at their desk or a nice-smelling soap for the office bathroom can show that you care for your team’s well-being.
  • Branded items like a coffee mug, tumbler, photo frame, or company shirt. Let them know they’re an integral part of the team!
  • Stationery sets; everyone on the team uses a pen, paper, or highlighter. Giving them a little bundle of office supplies can remind them of how important they are to you every time they use it!

Ideas for partners, collaborators, or investors:

  • Books on business building, marketing, or finances. Gifting a book is always a nice gesture, allowing you to pass along the wealth of knowledge you gained from reading it (or hearing about how great it is!)
  • Calculators or other office supplies. A thoughtful gift for an investor could be an old-school desk calculator!
  • Paperweight. A little outdated, like the calculator, but the sentiment will be there. It’ll be a nice way to say that you appreciate their specific visions and passions.

Ideas for clients:

  • Personal gift bundles. Ideas could include: Movie tickets and a restaurant gift card so they can have a night off on you, self-care baskets with face masks, slippers, candles, and body lotion, a cookie baking kit, or meal prep kits(check out LOCLE box for some great ideas!).
  • Plan or purchase a “team day” for the client. Set up a day for them to take the entire office out for a day trip or meal!
  • Plants or terrariums. These are perfect for brightening up a client’s office or home. They’ll think of you each time they see the plant grow! It’s perfect for a new client to symbolize how much growth you’ll have together.

Whatever you choose, even if it’s “just a gift card”, try to remember that the holidays are about more than just gifts! It’s about spending time with those you care about. Be sure that your team, clients, and partners know how much you appreciate them.

The best way to show them that you care is to ensure your team isn’t stretched too thin. Hiring a VA can be an easy and effective way to add more support to your office. Schedule a call and see how we can help.
