I’m so excited to write EVA’s Spotlight this month featuring Lisa Crilley Mallis. Not only is Lisa a fellow NAWBO member and leader, her business…Impactive Strategies, works with focused, successful business owners who are overcommitted and still want to achieve more without giving up their nights and weekends…which is the same goal that we have for our clients at EVA.

For over 15 years, Lisa has provided customized, practical solutions to everyday capacity-building challenges, allowing her clients to accomplish more in less time, while still enjoying their lives. She delivers motivating keynote speeches, leads dynamic and engaging workshops, and creates results-oriented coaching programs. We asked Lisa some questions about her business and what you can expect when you work with her.

What or who inspired you to start your business?

Due to my “get it all done and never say no” personality, I found that I was working A LOT of hours and became quite ill. During my attempt at getting healthy, I realized I could adapt my personality and habits to bring more balance into my work and life. Once I “fixed” me – I realized I was not alone – a lot of business owners would like to work less and achieve more, and Impactive Strategies was born!

What problem do you solve?

I help business owners eliminate the broken promises that come from being overcommitted.

It is possible to work less and achieve more!

What do you attribute to the success of your business?

Teaching REAL-LIFE solutions for REAL-LIFE challenges. The strategies my clients use aren’t “educational exercises” pulled from a book – but actual ideas that work in the real world, based on their personality, situation, learning style, goals, and dreams. Plus, I’ve been there . . .

What’s your favorite aspect of your business?

Watching clients move from “I’m stressed that I just won’t be able to get everything I want to be done” to “I have all the time and energy I need each day to tackle my priorities”.

Looking back, is there anything you would have done differently? If so, why?

I would have reached out for help sooner. I would have hired a marketing professional and a business coach at the beginning.

What’s your best piece of business advice?

Take action today. Progress is better than perfection – just keep moving!

What is the main takeaway that you want people to know about you or your business from this interview?

It is possible to work less and achieve more. Working nights and weekends running a business doesn’t have to be the “normal”. You can enjoy your life and be successful.
